A Stunning Stay in Salvador: Pousada des Arts

By on June 29, 2016

During our time in South America my mother and I stayed in many wonderful places but Pousada des Arts has to be one of the best.

2016040814601297791This funky guest house is set in a beautiful building that dates back to the 18th century. Conveniently located in the historical center of Salvador, it overlooking the scenic Baía de Todos os Santos Bay. Talk about breakfast with a view.

The breakfast buffet was one of the best of entire trip and the staff were wonderful. The entire atmosphere is relaxed and cozy and it is the perfect place to call home during a visit to sexy Salvador.

The hotel has everything from hammocks to a resident tortoise… Yes, a tortoise. My Mother personally made her self a tortoise sitter whenever we were in the hotel to ensure no one stepped on the poor guy.

About Me

Kat Knapp

Hello there, I'm Kat Knapp. I am a 26-year old Australian currently living in New Zealand. The past decade has involved a lot of travel which has resulted in me having visited 79 countries across all 7 continents. I have lived in Iceland, The Netherlands, Japan, France, Romania and Madagascar. Here is where I have shared a number of my adventures. I have an undergraduate degree in Sociology and Journalism, and am currently completing post-graduate study in Forensic Psychology and Teaching. I have my Private Pilots license, Adventure Dive Licence and Truck license which have led to some adventures on/above and below land. I hope to use this place to reflect on some missing adventures and ponder some non-travel related parts of my life.
