Margaridas Pousada: A Cosy Stay in Ipanema in Rio

By on July 12, 2016

Only three blocks from Ipanema beach is one of the cosiest Bed and Breakfasts I have ever rested my little head in. Margaridas Pousada was our happy home in Rio and I think it beats every single high-rise hotel on the beach.

Staying in Ipanema in Rio is wonderful. Walking down the beach is wonderful at all hours – especially in the evening when the fit locals are out exercising almost-naked and the beach bars are serving up juicy fresh coconuts and refreshing chilled beers.

Margaridas Pousada is superbly located and only a short was from the beach, with 11 pleasant, simply furnished rooms scattered about the low-rise building it feels like home

The breakfast was homemade with a very observant lady keeping her eye on your every move. The breakfast spread is including continental style with many fresh fruits, juices, breads, cereals, excellent Brazilian coffee and even eggs cooked to your own liking.

Margaridas Pousada is right in the middle of Ipanema and you are close to everything you might need (including many acai bars) and you feel safe walking around at any hour.

The guest house is homey and Sonia and her grandson speak perfect English and were helpful with every query we had.

I would highly recommend any visitor to Ipanema to stay in this lovely home away from home.

Kat Knapp

Hello there, I'm Kat Knapp. I am a 26-year old Australian currently living in New Zealand. The past decade has involved a lot of travel which has resulted in me having visited 79 countries across all 7 continents. I have lived in Iceland, The Netherlands, Japan, France, Romania and Madagascar. Here is where I have shared a number of my adventures. I have an undergraduate degree in Sociology and Journalism, and am currently completing post-graduate study in Forensic Psychology and Teaching. I have my Private Pilots license, Adventure Dive Licence and Truck license which have led to some adventures on/above and below land. I hope to use this place to reflect on some missing adventures and ponder some non-travel related parts of my life.
