Beach bungalows, gourmet beach dining, spectacular sunset views and one completely awesome treehouse bungalow… Welcome to Nosy Lodge.

IMG_9299Unfortunately I did not have the opportunity to stay as a guest at one of Nosy Lodge’s breathtaking bungalows on this visit to Nosy Be – but I did have the chance to indulge in some phenomenal meals at Nosy Lodge’s incredible restaurant and acquaint myself with the first-class facilities.

Nosy Lodge is located on the western side of the island of Nosy Be (which is where you will witness some of the worlds finest beachside sunsets). Nosy Lodge is only 10 kilometres north of Hellville and two kilometres from the village of Ambataloaka (both easily accessible by scooter or taxi).

As a guest at Nosy Lodge you can enjoy some of the islands most charming beachside bungalows, where only seconds from your doorstep you can snorkel, swim, or just lounge in the sun while sipping a tropical drink, relaxing, and letting that bottled up stress from the real world wash away in some of the clearest water in the world.

phoca_thumb_l_big_110717_int_rieur_bungalow_nature_3_From the doorstep of Nosy Lodge you will witness Madagascan locals going about day-to-day island life  as women walk along the beach selling bananas, mangoes, pineapples and papayas (depending what is in season) whilst at around midday pirogues moor up, and fishermen spill out with fish, crab, lobster and more for sale – produce you can be assured will be on the menu that night.

Nosy Lodge’s open aired restaurant is dining at it’s finest. We visited for lunch while my companion was Scuba Diving with ‘Scuba Nosy Be’ the wonderful company just next door. The restaurant has no menu, just daily recommendations from the friendly owner who obviously has the finest culinary taste on the island. It is the kind of wonderful establishment that is happy to throw something tailor-made for the pickier patron (AKA me). The mix of salad and vegetables was on of the best meals I had during my entire time in Madagascar and we couldn’t resist a second visit.
