Plan A for my trip to Madagascar: Romantic getaway on Nosy Be with my boyfriend at Nosy Be’s finest resort.

Plan B for my trip to Madagascar: Recover from my breakup with a solo getaway on Nosy Be with my sweet self perhaps still at Nosy Be’s finest resort…

manga-soa-lodge-3Plan C for my trip to Madagascar: Meet an incredible Dutch boy in Antananarivo, change all plans and extend my trip by a month, experience a ridiculously crazy bus and ferry to Nosy Be, hire a scooter, stay at the most beautiful corner of the island, spend an afternoon completely relaxing at Nosy Be’s finest resort…

No matter how you look at it I was destined to experience this resort… And I had absolutely no complaints about plan C…

Manga Soa Lodge is Nosy Be’s finest resort, and although we ended up staying on the other side of the island at the incredible Anjiamarango Beach Resort, after scootering past the sign for Manga Soa Lodge we couldn’t resist having a sneaky peek at what the islands most deluxe lodge had to offer…

IMG_9227Nestled on the East Coast of Nosy-Be, Manga Soa Lodge is situated amongst a tropical garden and offers panoramic views of the Indian Ocean. The lodge features an outdoor pool, restaurant and a private beach area.

Manga Soa Lodge is stunning. From the moment we pulled through the gate and started walking through the hotel grounds we were blown away with the beachside elegance of the lodge. With the most irresistible infinity pool I have ever seen and a range of gorgeous beachside seating (including a day bed!), Manga Soa Lodge is next level luxury.

We ordered a cocktail (the best priced and best tasting we had on the entire island) and crossed our fingers as we asked if we would be able to use the facilities… I was completely shocked that for under $10 we drank first class mojitos by an infinity pool all afternoon… It was one of the best bargains on the island.

manga-soa-lodge-5Although we didn’t get a good look inside the rooms, from what I have seen and read online, Manga Soa Lodge may be the best choice on the island for a pure luxury beach break.

The only concern I would have about the resort is that it is on the wrong side of the island to experience some first class sunsets – but for the early risers this could make for some pretty magnificent mornings…

I found some more information about Manga Soa Lodge online which may be helpful for you Plan A and Plan B travellers…

With a private entrance, the elegant bungalows are decorated with Indonesian and local furnishings, and feature a terrace with sea views. They are spacious and have a lounge, flat-screen TV, small refrigerator, fan and private bathroom.

At Manga Soa Lodge the restaurant offers traditional dishes, as well as international cuisine. Guests can relax by the poolside or explore and enjoy an array of activities ranging from cycling, fishing and snorkelling.

Free WiFi is available in public areas and the 24-hour front desk can assist guests with arranging an airport shuttle upon request. The Fascene Airport is within 6 km.
