My decision to spend some solo time on the Italian Riviera was pretty spontaneous and very last minute. Finding accommodation as a solo traveler can be expensive when every hostel in the area is full so I decided to go for a more ‘natural’ sleeping option. I decided to stay at a campsite.
My online searches had lead me to discover Camping La Sfinge.
Located in the famous area between Cinque Terre and Portofino, immersed in a landscape of pine and acacia trees, stretching out over a surface area of 18.000 sq. m in an enchanting valley. This was my home for the weekend.
Unwilling to hike my way there carrying camping gear I decided to book a tent. A tent with two single beds (including fresh linen) on a typical Ligurian terrace. It was camping luxury and it was perfect.
Camping La Sfinge is a short train ride from Cinque Terre near the station of Deiva Marina on the Line Genoa/La Spezia. The campsite offer a free shuttle bus service from the station that departs regularly throughout the day.
With friendly staff and a beautiful location it is the perfect budget-friendly base for exploring The Italian Riviera.
