Anjiamarango Beach Resort may be one of the most romantic flawless places I have ever stayed in my life. No, actually forget the ‘maybe’, my time staying at Anjiamarango Beach Resort was nothing short of perfect.

booking-1069209-31262986-imageWe rolled up the long drive on our freshly hired scooter, and were greeted by Philippe, the owner, who awaited our arrival (after having already had to alter our booking a number of times with complete ease). Lounging by the sea we were given fresh juice whilst Philippe introduced us to Anjiamarango Beach Resort and advised us of what to expect of the resort and the facilities available to us.

We were soon showed to our beac bungalow – we had been upgraded from ‘sea view’ to ‘beach view’ which meant the door of our bungalow opened directly onto the beautiful private beach. And yep – we could see the beach from bed…

IMG_9203Featuring a private sandy beach, Anjiamarango Beach Resort offers extreme luxury at amazing prices. The rooms each feature a private terrace and panoramic sea views. The rooms are incredible spacious and charming and with so much room to spread out and relax we immediately fell in love felt right at home.

The resort itself has a stunning outdoor infinity pool, an incredible restaurant and bar, and an open-air guest lounge area. Water sports facilities for diving and snorkelling are also available on site. Evening entertainment is provided for guests, and there is free WiFi access in the bar area.

Staying at Anjiamarango Beach Resort is pure paradise. We used our three nights at the resort as absolute ‘relaxation time’ after escaping Madagascar’s crazy capital and surviving the long journey to the island. We would wake up to the sound of the sea before enjoying a great fresh buffet breakfast. The rest of the day would be spent relaxing, drinking cocktails, reading by the pool and simply enjoying the breathtaking beach. As the day went on we would await the most magnificent show of all – the sunset. Every afternoon at Anjiamarango Beach Resort was completely blissful and at 5.30 every day we would witness the best light show on the island – the sunset – accompanied by a cocktail, of course.

Come evening we would be served incredible meals from the friendly restaurant staff, with fresh seafood from the days catch. The waiting staff would collect lunch and dinner orders throughout the booking-1069209-31262981-imageday so you knew what fresh food was available for the upcoming meal. We would then spend the evenings competing in challenging matches of chess, bilingual scrabble, all supplied by Anjiamarango Beach Resort. On one of the nights of our stay there was even live music and dancing and a beachside BBQ for the guests.

Before we knew it our romance at the Anjiamarango Beach Resort came to an end and we returned to the complicated relationship also known as ‘travelling in Madagascar’. The days at Anjiamarango Beach Resort simply flew by in a wonderful blur of beautiful beach, wonderful weather, first-class food, spectacular sunsets and tremendous tranquility. We definitely went for the R&R retreat option at Anjiamarango Beach Resort, but for those seeking a bit more action the resort can organise everything from Scuba diving days and courses to excursions on the surrounding islands.

Whether you are visiting solo (my expectations), or happen to find a partner in crime relaxation to visit with (my reality)…. It would be impossible not to fall in love with Anjiamarango Beach Resort.
