I think it just hit me. I’m about to go on a big adventure. Or have I already left? Because my 8-hour-transit in Perth airport doesn’t feel very adventurous right now…

Because flying across the world to reunite with a special person is an adventure, going on an African safari is an adventure, and volunteering in a small Madagascan village is an adventure.

…And spending 60-hours in planes and airports is an adventure… Or maybe that’s just stupid. I’ll stick to Adventure.

After 10 long months of sitting behind a desk as a travel agent I am finally on my way to see the places beyond the brochures. And I hope to return with not only incredible photos, but some pretty incredible life experience.

But the countdown is on, with 5 hours down and only 55 to go…

About Me

Kat Knapp

Hello there, I'm Kat Knapp. I am a 26-year old Australian currently living in New Zealand. The past decade has involved a lot of travel which has resulted in me having visited 79 countries across all 7 continents. I have lived in Iceland, The Netherlands, Japan, France, Romania and Madagascar. Here is where I have shared a number of my adventures. I have an undergraduate degree in Sociology and Journalism, and am currently completing post-graduate study in Forensic Psychology and Teaching. I have my Private Pilots license, Adventure Dive Licence and Truck license which have led to some adventures on/above and below land. I hope to use this place to reflect on some missing adventures and ponder some non-travel related parts of my life.
