All Things Dutch and Touristy: Clara Maria Cheese and Clog Farm

By on August 3, 2016

A couple of days ago I was sitting in the backseat of a car on my way home from a day sailing the Dutch waterways when we drove past the ‘Clara Maria Cheese and Clogs Farm’.

I started to laugh at the concept and then had some form of travel flashback to myself in The Netherlands 3 years earlier…

“I’ve been there!!!”

It’s true. 3 years before I myself had visited a farm dedicated to the spirit of cheese and clogs.

And I think all first time visitors to the country should get a behind-the-scenes look at how Dutch cheese and clogs are made.

Own by a Dutch/American duo the farm visit was hilarious and informative and give a wonderful guided tour while offering free tastings of delicious fresh cheese.

The farm is also equipped was a with a spacious gift shop offering a variety of nostalgic Dutch souvenirs for all the cheese (and clog) lovers back home to enjoy.

About Me

Kat Knapp

Hello there, I'm Kat Knapp. I am a 26-year old Australian currently living in New Zealand. The past decade has involved a lot of travel which has resulted in me having visited 79 countries across all 7 continents. I have lived in Iceland, The Netherlands, Japan, France, Romania and Madagascar. Here is where I have shared a number of my adventures. I have an undergraduate degree in Sociology and Journalism, and am currently completing post-graduate study in Forensic Psychology and Teaching. I have my Private Pilots license, Adventure Dive Licence and Truck license which have led to some adventures on/above and below land. I hope to use this place to reflect on some missing adventures and ponder some non-travel related parts of my life.
