Plitvice: Croatia’s Natural Paradise

By on April 13, 2014

IMG_9927Look left, look right, look up, look down – I can assure you that there is no direction you will look to in Croatia’s Plitvice National Park that is not strikingly beautiful.

16 Lakes, connected by rivers and over 100 waterfalls featuring forests, caves and crevices make exploring the area a stunning adventure. In Plitvice, Mother Nature shows off – reminding us that no amount of wealth can ever create more beauty in this world than what she has already presented. No instagram filter is as startlingly green as the scenery, no iPhone screen as as clear as the water and no game of candy rush is as addictive as merely admiring the beauty of this place.

A day spent in Plitvice is a beautiful way to reconnect with the natural world. You can take a moment to forget about the daily mini-traumas of being human and just find yourself hypnotised by the flow of water, enchanted by the depth of forest and lured into the mysterious caves.

So if you are sick of losing Candy Crush and would prefer to lose yourself to nature, visit Platice. I know for sure that you that you will leave feeling inspired and mesmerised by the beauty of the world (and, of course, with a number of photo options for your next Instagram post…)

About Me

Kat Knapp

Hello there, I'm Kat Knapp. I am a 26-year old Australian currently living in New Zealand. The past decade has involved a lot of travel which has resulted in me having visited 79 countries across all 7 continents. I have lived in Iceland, The Netherlands, Japan, France, Romania and Madagascar. Here is where I have shared a number of my adventures. I have an undergraduate degree in Sociology and Journalism, and am currently completing post-graduate study in Forensic Psychology and Teaching. I have my Private Pilots license, Adventure Dive Licence and Truck license which have led to some adventures on/above and below land. I hope to use this place to reflect on some missing adventures and ponder some non-travel related parts of my life.
