10250121_10152305947931273_5978003121685493682_nFor a city that only just ducks below the arctic circle, Reykjavik is a culinary haven. The cozy and friendly restaurant and bar BAST is no exception. Whether it be a deluxe brunch date or after work drink, Bast is the place to be.

Just of the main drag, Bast is a hidden Reykjavik gem that I was lucky enough to discover during my first week in Reykjavik. The interior is bright and hip and the food is fantastic. From the freshest tasting soups and salads to mammoth mid-morning feasts (in the form of carnivorous/vegetarian and even vegan brunch platters), there is a satisfying solution to every appetite.

The restaurant is also a regular venue for great DJ’s and local jazz bands. The lights are dimmed, the candles are lit and the wines are poured. By night the atmosphere is vibrant and fun.

Whether it be a friendly feast or an evening nightcap, (or both), Bast will not disappoint.

About Me

Kat Knapp

Hello there, I'm Kat Knapp. I am a 26-year old Australian currently living in New Zealand. The past decade has involved a lot of travel which has resulted in me having visited 79 countries across all 7 continents. I have lived in Iceland, The Netherlands, Japan, France, Romania and Madagascar. Here is where I have shared a number of my adventures. I have an undergraduate degree in Sociology and Journalism, and am currently completing post-graduate study in Forensic Psychology and Teaching. I have my Private Pilots license, Adventure Dive Licence and Truck license which have led to some adventures on/above and below land. I hope to use this place to reflect on some missing adventures and ponder some non-travel related parts of my life.
