CHEZ-TERESA-AMBATOLOAKA

The best thing about Italy? The food. The second best thing about Italy? The people making the food… Well in Madagascar’s lovely Nosy Be you can find both – and trust me, it will make you want to book a one way ticket to Sicily…

Chez Teresa has some of the best food in Nosy Be and Teresa and her husband treat all their patrons with incredible hospitality which will have you feeling right at home before your red has been poured.

chez-teresa-restaurantOur first visit to this wonderful little restaurant in Ambatoloaka was towards the end of our time in Nosy Be and the only complaint would be that we didn’t discover the restaurant earlier. The food, the service and the atmosphere is some of the best you will find on the island (especially if you are as lucky as us and manage to get a seat on the charming little balcony).

With an extensive Italian Menu (with, of course, a few Malagasy classics) there is something for everyone – even the picky vegetarians like me… And if you asked my date at Chez Teresa I can assure you he would recommend the mushroom risotto.

Hello there, I'm Kat Knapp. I am a 26-year old Australian currently living in New Zealand. The past decade has involved a lot of travel which has resulted in me having visited 79 countries across all 7 continents. I have lived in Iceland, The Netherlands, Japan, France, Romania and Madagascar. Here is where I have shared a number of my adventures. I have an undergraduate degree in Sociology and Journalism, and am currently completing post-graduate study in Forensic Psychology and Teaching. I have my Private Pilots license, Adventure Dive Licence and Truck license which have led to some adventures on/above and below land. I hope to use this place to reflect on some missing adventures and ponder some non-travel related parts of my life.
